Its actually rather simple. A 100 ton ship isn't going anywhere without
at least a fusion drive.

Morning all,

Thought I'd take a few moments out from writing my U-Beaut Sector
Viewer/Generator to post a quick design:

TL 14 Meson Gun (Solomani)

Bore: 4.58 m
Power Required: 69.4 MW
Volume: 2383 m^3
Mass: 2291 t
Length: 120 m

Damage: Short 5:240 Medium 10:118 Long 20:60 Extreme 40:30

Crew: 5
Price: MCr 203.32

Specs include integral Homopolar Generator and Beam Pointer (both at TL-14).

The MG-120/3 was the standard Light Meson Gun in the Solomani Confederal
Navy. It was produced in large numbers for a number of Light Cruiser
designs, most notably the 'Malkop' Class Light Cruiser (10000t). The Malkop
was produced in great numbers by the Solomani as both a line warship and
commerce raider.

Two Malkop Class ships have been recovered by the Commonwealth. The
'Voronezh', now the AME-0034 'Jean d'Arc', entered service with the Medoci
Navy (Aquitaine) after a lengthy refit in 1199, while the 'Polyarny' is
undergoing restoration in orbit around Teucer for the Royal Teuceri Navy
(the 'Polyarny' is expected to be renamed TE-0011 'Prince Nomura'.

Reports from CEF missions suggest that at least one Malkop Class cruiser is
in the hands of a potentially hostile power, based spinward of the Near
Bootes Commonwealth.

Max Callahan wonders if there is something wrong with his math when
figuring out TL7 HRF rocket tank sizes:

Max,

You may not be making a mistake. Consider that the current high-tech
spacecraft available, the space shuttle, weighs well under 100 tons (I
think more like half of that, though I'm sure someone will be happy to
correct me) and that massive tank carries fuel for less than half an hour
of travel.
